In this 3 day workshop we'll be exploring the plasticity of sheet steel through material appropriation using raising and chasing. This method is designed to keep the relative thickness of the material consistent to the original thickness, allowing the chaser to save material for sculpture and dramatic undercuts without loosing the inheritance strength of the material. There are a few projects for us to pick from, they are intentionally designed by Douglas to guide us through working with steel in this method. All tooling is provided!

A little experience is helpful, this course will be a little difficult for a new comer as we will be doing raising with chasing, and moving between the two when you are new can be a lot for a 3 day course. So I would recommend having some back ground in raising, or chasing.
