Knot just any Boss.
Normally I raise out the majority of the shapes from the back, providing all the positive space I need to chase details back down from the front. This piece however was slapped strait into the pitch, I did all the chasing from the outside. I did it this way because I was nervous about keeping all of my lines strait. So after I put it in the pitch I drew strait onto the steel from the outside.
For this shield boss I did a little brass work, got some footage to give you an idea of how I got the brass to fit up to the steel. There's a lot of ways to do this of course, the method I used is simply one of them. Thanks for checking out my continuing experiments in video! I still have a long way to go with my metal work (and in my film) and I plan to enjoy every minute of it!
